News for the NIG super computer system replacement in Mar., 2012

MiGap renewal from DDBJ 2012.05.02
MiGAP (Microbial Genome Annotation Pipeline) is a mechanical annotation tool which provides novice and old pro alike to microbial contigs and genomes.
The service was resumed on May 1, 2012 , from DDBJ website.

To use the service, users needs an account to login the MiGap site.
Please get an account from Apply the use of Web service of Apply the use of super computer system (in Japanese).

Note: At present, only new annotation is available　(View of old results which had been annotated before Feb. 2012 is in preparation).
Operation Status of DDBJ services after replacement of NIG computer system (as of Apr. 20) 2012.04.20
The National Institute of Genetics replaced its computer system in this March 2012. And most of DDBJ services which had been suspended because of the replacement works since February 15, was completed resumption or renewal. DDBJ apologizes for your inconveniences during this period, and hopes the renewd services are more useful for the users,

Resumption of DDBJ services (as of Apr. 2) 2012.04.04
The computer system in the National Institute of Genetics will be replaced with an upgraded one by March, 2012. Consequently, DDBJ fulfills the provision of high-speed search and/or analysis systems, data submission systems corresponding for the explosive data increase, and other new services.

According to this replacement, currently, some DDBJ services are being suspended as of February 15, 2012.
The services that are available from April 2.

NIG starts the application for new supercomputer system

We start the operation this system from March 21, 2012.
For using, you need to apply for a supercomputer account from "Apply the use of super computer system (in Japanese)".

Resume is scheduled for the middle of March, after running the new supercomputer system. Before the services are resumed, as alternative way, please visit NCBI BLAST, EBI-ClustalW，Genomenet-ClustalW(Kyoto Univ.)
