 Cancellation of the requests in DDBJ's "Search & Analysis" services due to System change in NIG February 22, 2007
- According to the NIG computer system replacement, DDBJ will shift the "Search & Analysis" service system to the new one in the end of February. The current system is terminated after the start of the new system. Unfortunately, the requests sent to the current system can not be transferred to the new system. Therefore, all the requests which have not been completed their execution within the current system runnning period will be cancelled. Details are as follows;
- Services: FASTA, BLAST, PSI-BLAST, SSEARCH, ClustalW (either via WWW and E-mail)
- Termination date of the Current system: March 9, 2007 ((Fri) 17:00
- As of the above date, all the queries which are still remained in the current system are cancelled and are not transferred to the new system. Therefore, if you do not receive your results by February 9, please re-enter your requests to the new system.
- Check the runnning status: Users can verify the status of the requests by "Traffic".
Getting the results : "Result viewer" is also terminated as the same date.
- URL Change: There are some services whose URLs are changed in the new system.

- Supernig and Minerva2 suspension February 21, 2007
- With the replacement of new computer system in NIG, the New Supernig service operation will start from February 27 2007. Prior to the start of New Supernig, for the preliminary works such as data transfer, Supernig and Minerva2 are temporary unavailable at the following schedule.

- System change from Minerva2 to New supernig February 21, 2007

With the replacement of new computer system in NIG, we are going to
terminate the "minerva" service and integrate this service into new
Supernig.
We have already asked the minerva users to shift to minerva2,
however, according to this replacement, we ask further shift minerva2
to new Supernig.
1: Outline
System Management Department(ddbjsys) will copy and place all data of
minerva2 to the "temporary directory" in the new Supernig.

Feb.23 9:00- Feb 27 9:00 copy all users' home data by ddbjsys

Feb 27 9:00- New Supernig service start
Feb 27 9:00 - Mar 30 17:00 Parallel operation period of minerva2
and new Supernig
(transfer users' personal data from the "temporary directory"
to users' own homes by users themselves)
Mar 30 Termination of the "temporary directory"
*After the copy of the data is completed, we will announce the
start of the new Supernig service. Then, please transfer your
data to your home directory in the new Supernig and confirm it
carefully.
< Caution>
After the parallel operation period, users cannot access to the
"temporary directory". Please make sure that there is no data leakage.

- About the New Supernig service

With the replacement of new computer system in NIG, the New Supernig
service operation will start from February 27 2007.
To shift the new system smoothly, please follow the guide-line below.

Feb.23 9:00- Feb 27 9:00 Copy all users' home data to the New Supernig

Feb 27 9:00- New Supernig service start
With the system replacement to the new Supernig, System Management
Department(ddbjsys) will copy all users' data of present Supernig
in block.
After the completion of this copy, the start of the new Supernig
service will be announced. Then, please confirm your personal
data by yourself.

- Change of "How to create Links to DDBJ entries February 20, 2007
- In DDBJ, you can create links to individual DDBJ entries directly. According to the system replace scheduled in this February-March, the method "How to create links to DDBJ entries" is changed. In the new method, for example, a link to an entry with accession number AB000001 is as follows.

- The computer system in the National Institute of Genetics will be replaced in this March. According this replacement, there are some WWW services whose URLs are changed. Please update your links to new URLs. Presently, both new and old URLs are accessible for a while. But, eventually, old URLs will be stopped.

- According to the NIG computer systtem replacement, DDBJ will terminate providing the following services as of February 23.

- CAMUS : compressed database for homology seraches

- DDBJ will completely suspend its activities of the DNA database (data submission, update, and release) in the following schedule, because of the related works for the NIG computer system replacement.
