7.Annotation – How to input an organism name

Category of organism name

Category Description
Select only for virus, environmental sample, etc. Default. Please select it if the organism is not classified to any of categories shown below.
Viruses/Phages Select if organism is virus or phage. Input dictionary switches to virus/phage names.
Environmental Samples Select if the nucleotide sequence is obtained from environmental sample. "uncultured" is automatically entered at text area of scientific name.
Artificial Construct Select if the nucleotide sequence is obtained from cloning vector, expression vector, or other synthetic construct.
A known species but unregistered in taxonomy database Select if the organism is valid name but not registered in NCBI taxonomy database.
Not found in taxonomy database, but already registered in other sequence data Select if the organism is not registered in NCBI taxonomy database, but you have ever use the same organism in your previous registration.
A novel species to be proposed in the paper Select if you are planning to report novel species.
