BioData Science Initiative (BSI) provides services and tools to support data submission, helping you throughout the process — from choosing the right database to preparing and validating your submission files.
Submission navigation
Answer a few questions about your data to find out which database to submit to and how to submit your data. This tool is particularly useful for first-time submitters.
Cross-database search
Search across databases using an AI-assisted query builder to find data similar to what you plan to submit. https://bsi.nig.ac.jp/search
GGS (Genome/gene Submission Tool)
GGS helps you prepare genome sequence submissions. Enter information about your nucleotide sequences through the web interface, and GGS generates DDBJ submission files, including annotation and FASTA files. You can also view the results of Validator checks.
Validator
https://github.com/ddbj/ddbj-validator
Validator checks data for multiple databases, including DDBJ, BioProject, BioSample, DRA, GEA, and MetaboBank. For DDBJ submissions, you can validate annotation (ann) and sequence (fasta) files in advance using the command line. Fixing errors and reviewing warnings before submitting your files through the MSS form can help reduce the time required to complete your submission.
If you are not familiar with command-line tools, you can also log in to GGS using your DDBJ account and upload your ann and fasta files through the web interface to run Validator checks. For validation rules, please see the rule list.
